Colonial city tour of Mumbai

The tour gave us a good insight into the history of Mumbai and the various buildings and key influencers in the development of the city. Again our guide Meherban painted a picture of the city, its history, the key people and conflicts past and present in the area. We saw a lot of different areas of the city, each with its own unique story!

The best way to really see the city

Bombay is the ultimate walkers’ city though so few do. Dense and packed with history, if unfolded in the right hands. Nimisha, our guide was great. Laneways I have walked for years were seen with new interest. Great for those who know the city and for those visiting for the first time.

Mumbai’s heritage and a wonderful guide

The tour was very informative and enjoyable. There was a lot to know about Mumbai’s old structures and buildings and our guide Meherban was incredibly knowledgeable on all of them. He gave us insight into Mumbai’s colonial history and especially on the city’s Parsi and Gujarati heritage. He was good-humoured, open, and made the experience comfortable, interactive, and suited to our personal preferences. Meherban clearly loved the city and his enthusiasm was contagious; we ended the tour with a new appreciation and reverence for the the city and its bones all around us. I can’t imagine the experience could have gotten any better.

Best tour of Mumbai ever.

I would have given this tour a 10 out 5 if I could. Absolutely excellent. Batul was informed, engaging, fun, and a lovely person to walk around the city with - with an encyclopedic knowledge of the city, I feel like I’ve spent so much more time here thanks to her care and attention. Worth the money and then some. I actually took the pre-dawn tour with her yesterday, and wanted to tour with her again today - she’s that good. I’ll contact No Footsteps and her again the next time I’m in Mumbai, for sure.

Our Guide irani was superb. We ran late and irani was very Patient with us. He have us an excellent Tour nad answered all our questions, made Sure we we're safe in the roads. He gave us Tipps where we should eat and visit.

Fun, informative, and funny tour with Adi

TAKE THIS TOUR! We had a fantastic heritage walk with Adi today. He was informative and had a great grasp of the history and culture of Bombay. In addition he had lots of fun facts - past and present. And a terrific sense of humor. Adi was incredibly thoughtful - like when we went to the fish market and he pulled out shoe covers for our shoes. He also made the tour very personalized - asking what we wanted to see and learn - and then adjusted the route and what we did based on our interests. I can’t recommend him and the company more. Only regret is that we don’t have more time to do the sunrise Mumbai tour with him while we are still here.

Informative and immersive Mumbai walk with Neville

This was the perfect walking tour for our family without being too intense. We were able to squeeze in many monuments starting with the Gateway of India. Neville was an extremely knowledgeable guide with tremendous energy and even though I’ve grown up here I still learnt a lot about the city and the history of its various monuments from him. He made the tour super enjoyable for sure. Highly recommended not only if you are visiting Mumbai but also for locals who want to learn more about the rich history and heritage of Mumbai.

Wonderful introduction to Mumbai

We did two tours with No Footprints. The first was the early morning economy and the second was the architectural and historical Heritage tour walk of Mumbai. They were both very informative and we found the guide Meherban Irani to be a font of knowledge and a source of engaging stories. The experience was greatly enhanced by our curiosity as Meherban really enjoys guests who ask questions and actively engage in discussion.

Heritage walk from Gateway of India

The Heritage walk that started from the Gateway of India with our guide Meherban Irani was an enriching one. Though my family and I’ve been to Mumbai a few times earlier, this trip will remain the most memorable one as we learnt about the history and culture of Mumbai’s landmark buildings. Mr. Irani’s vast knowledge of Mumbai’s history combined with his enthusiasm for sharing it with his guests is truly amazing. Looking forward to more wonderful experiences with Meherban and NFP

Very knowledgeable guided tour

Aman was so knowledgeable and keen to share everything he knew about the buildings around us as we toured the colonial part of Mumbai. So much more than I anticipated, it was a revelation. I'd have no issue recommending Aman for any tour. He was also a great photographer too!

Knowledgable and funny

This is the second tour I did with Aman in Mumbai, the heritage walk tour. You get to see the colonial buildings near the Mumbai Taj Hotel. Aman is knowledgeable, fun and friendly. I would highly recommend his Mumbai tours. He is very passionate about the city and it shows.

Amazing tour of colonial heritage sites

KP is an amazing tour guide. He is knowledgeable (especially on architecture of the city) and caring. Very detail oriented. Clearly he knows about the city. We could ask almost anything in his touring. From foods, to fashion; from sports to entertainment; from education to economics, he could give you a good answer! Truly enjoyed his touring!

Absolutely a well done tour!

This was an outstanding tour. You really get a sense of the city’s history and architecture by walking around some key areas. Our guide Disha was terrific — she provided so much context, insight, humor and interesting stories and facts. Just spending a few hours learning about Mumbai and chatting with her is so well worth the tour! Our only one small suggestion is that either TripAdvisor or the tour company could be more clear in describing the difference between booking this as solely a walking tour or adding a driver and some additional sights. We’d give this tour and Disha our highest recommendation for a half day well spent in Mumbai!

Mumbai tour done right with Neville at Nofootprints!

I’ve visited Mumbai only a few times in my life, and they have all been quick visits to meet family. This time around my wife who grew up in Mumbai insisted we do a proper tour of the city she loves so much and that we do it with the No Footprints company since that’s what all the international celebrities are using these days. I am happy to say that it was our best decision. Our tour guide Neville met us early at the TajMahal hotel and took us on the most wonderful walking tour through the heritage streets of mumbai. The history of Mumbai (or Bombay, as my wife who grew up here still insists on calling it) is truly astounding. A century of history spanning the occupation of multiple European countries and their siege of the 7 islands is neaytly wrapped up in the streets we walked through. We have done so many walking tours all over the world and always believe that the guide maketh the tour. Neville was funny and warm and very obviously proud of the city he grew up. He regaled us with stories of kings and freedom fighters. His off the script knowledge was commendable as well, as he regaled us with his personal anecdotes and jokes as we may our way through the hot streets of mumbai. By the way , if you are lucky, Neville will even make short pit stop at the local coconut water stall for the most refreshing drink to beat the mumbai heat ! A morning well spent. We decided on the spot to go back to the hotel to book another No footprints tour the following day and to make sure to request Neville as our guide . Very satisfied and happy, albeit slightly sweaty customers !

Best way to see the Heritage of Mumbai ! w/ Neville from No Footprints

My husband and I had the most wonderful Mumbai Heritage walk from the gateway of India Port to the Mumbai high Court with our guide Neville. My husband is new to Mumbai, but I had lived here growing up. Everything our tour guide told us was new and unique ! From the history of the gateway and Taj to the history of the high court and the mumbai university . It was amazing to see this city with fresh new eyes. Neville was so knowledgeable about the places we went to. Loved the wayg he brought humor to some of the heavy topics. I am so happy someone recommended No-footprints to us . They are really showcasing the heart of this city. I would recommend this to not just travelers but people who live here . I bet you no Parsi knows where the surname ‘Readymoney’ came from. Neville from No Footprints can surely tell you !!!! I’m going to make it my mission to cover a new tour from No Footprints everytime I visit Mumbai. P.S. - we always make it a point to ask local tour guides for restaurant recommendations. Neville’s recommendations were such cool finds you won’t find in a guidebook

Aditya is truly passionate about the city and has plenty of tales to share! He has lots of energy and made sure we were refreshed and didn’t tire out during the walk. Thoroughly recommend!

Fantastic tour for first-time Mumbai visitor

My tour guide Aman was exceptional. He’s passionate about Mumbai/Bombay and his passion, knowledge and appreciation of the city came through at every location and throughout the entire tour. The tour was fascinating and tailored to my own interests in and desire to better understand the history, the cultures, the people and traditions. He went well beyond what was expected in terms of the time he spent with me, guiding me through different neighborhoods and to significant architectural landmarks. The tour ended with a cup of traditional chai tea over great conversation. In truth, I felt that I spent the day with an old friend. A highly memorable experience that I appreciated greatly.

Best introduction to Mumbai

Marvelous Tour with Aman our guide. For our first day in Mumbai, we did the heritage tour. Aman shared his knowledge and experience of Mumbai and was attentive to our needs. Wonderful time, we really enjoyed the experience.He also took some beautiful photos of us. We highly recommend with tour, with Aman.

The best way to experience Mumbai!

Abhishek was an excellent guide. The combination of walking and driving meant that we could cover a larger area and bugger variety of quality establishments. The food definitely took centre stage, but so did Abhi’s detailed and interesting knowledge. We had already had a city tour in the day, but Abhi only added detail where it was missing, not historical and anecdotal. Our food ranged from a place that had been selling puris since 1848 to Dhosas that are so popular that the street has to be closed off. From a potato patty burger Pav (Pau) to some of the best Kulfi you’ll ever taste!! Truly enjoyed Abhi’s company and loved how he weaved the heritage of this culturally rich city with the food experiences we had. Couldn’t recommend this more!!

Brilliant walking tour with Neville

This was our first activity in Mumbai and it was a brilliant introduction. Our guide, Neville, met us promptly in the lobby of our hotel and took us on a walking tour of the heritage area of South Mumbai. He covered the main sites in the area and gave us many interesting anecdotes about the city too. Neville also gave us some restaurant recommendations and texted me after the tour with suggestions of what to order, which was much appreciated. A must do-tour if you are new to the city.

Enjoyable tour and skilled tour guide

I joined a group tour with Aditya Pai, who was very knowledgeable and personable. The tour was about 2 hours long, which I thought was the right length. I learned a lot and enjoyed the tour at the same time. I recommend this tour to learn about some of the major sites and neigh orhoods in Mumbai.

Adi and the amazing colonial walk

Adi took us on an amazing colonial walk tour with a private Luxury bus. We saw the hustle and bustle of Mumbai; the real heart of the city. It was amazing.

Amazing "Port to the Court" walk by No Footprints

WOW! What a lovely way to spend a cloudy Sunday morning ... doing a Mumbai Heritage walk tour with No Footprints, Mumbai! We met at the Gateway of India & our super group walked up to the High Court! Heard lots of interesting stories about the culture & the spirit of Mumbai, and the event in the days of the British Raj! Adi, our tour guide was phenomenal & kept us all in splits with his humourous anecdotes & stories throughout the tour ... !!!!

A Sunday well spent ion Mumbai Heritage Walk

Hi did a Customised Heritage walk tour on Sunday 4th Sept 2022 though a born mumbaikar got a really great insights into The heritage sights of Mumbai thanks to the experience Walk Leader Aditya who had great stories to narrate interspersed with light jokes. A beautiful way to spend a Sunday morning with like minded people. Getting to know in details about sights like the Gateway of India the iconic Taj Hotel the Regal Theatre Maharashtra Police HQ the Prince of Wales Museum the Cowasjee Jehangir Hall now known as National Gallery of Modern Arts and many others.

Great way to explore Mumbai

KP was very friendly and knowledgeable, he showed us the main highlights and told the story behind the buildings. Bonus was fresh coconut water served directly from the coconut. Highly recommendable. Thanks KP!

Spent Sunday morning discovering a city I was born and raised in and didn’t realise there was such a beauty old side to it. All thanks to the no footprints team and a special shout-out to Aditya for being extremely knowledgeable and making us laugh the entire time. It’s not very hectic so you can definitely wake up early and spend your Sunday morning getting to know your own city better :)

Would 100% recommend the walking tours by No Footprints

I did the Bombay Zero walking tour and it was probably the best way to spend a Sunday morning with a fun group of people. Aditya Pai, who was the tour leader took us through the bylanes of Horniman Circle in Fort while narrating the stories and tales of a city that was nothing but islands, then became Bombay and the key figures in history who built it up. Such a amazing experience and would 100 percent recommend. I don’t think you will regret missing on the additional early morning Zzzs.

Our guide, KP, was very friendly and knowledgeable and knew so many unique stories about the heritage of Mumbai throughout every stage of its history. Brilliant Guided walk around colonial area of Mumbai

I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide Rabab was fantastic - both incredibly knowledable, but also very entertaining and made the tour great fun. The tour itself was based around colonial landmarks, but I also learnt a huge amount about present day india and culture.

Couldn't recommend Pooja enough!

First off, I'd like to thank No Footprints for being so flexible about arranging our tour - just around 12 hours in advance!! That wasn't where our fortunes ended though. Our guide, Pooja, was an absolute gem. She was a real highlight for our visit to Bombay in February. My dad, my partner, and I all got along fantastically with Pooja, while seeing all the sites and learning the history of the tourist centre of Bombay. It was one of the first times on our 3 week trip to India where we felt like we were getting a really curated experience. The tour itself was a perfect length, and the history really enriched our appreciation for Bombay. Definitely a must!! I am definitely planning to reach out to No Footprints (and hopefully Pooja) for another tour in Bombay next we visit!

Wonderful Survey of Historical Buildings

We had a great experience with No Footprint's heritage tour. Pooja - who was a great guide - took us on a great survey tour of colonial historical buildings, which combined our interest in architecture, history and culture. No Footprints also kindly matched our schedule so we got to do our tour at a time best for us. We don't have that many days in the city so it was a great way to take some of it in!

Fantastic heritage walk with Pooja in Mumbai

Our walking tour with Pooja was amazing. We crammed in so much without feeling rushed and she managed to get across a lot of info in an informal at with plenty of laughs. The dabba wallas waiting to meet the tiffins off the train was a highlight and Pooja was greeted like an old friend. Don’t miss this when in Mumbai.
